Why you’ll love this recipe

  • Crystal Clear Broth: A light, clean soup that allows the high-quality flavor of the pork and shrimp to shine.
  • Snap & Bite: Using fresh shrimp alongside pork creates a “bouncy” filling texture that is incredibly satisfying.
  • Nourishing Comfort: This is a light yet protein-packed meal that feels like a warm hug in a bowl.

Key Ingredients

  • Shrimp: Provides a natural sweetness and a “crunchy” texture to the meat filling.
  • Sesame Oil: A small amount in the filling adds a toasted, nutty aroma that elevates the simple ingredients.
  • Wonton Wrappers: Using thin, store-bought wrappers makes this an accessible recipe for busy home cooks.

Key Steps

  • Step 1: Mix the pork and shrimp filling until it becomes a cohesive, elastic paste. I like to use a stand mixer to save effort.
  • Step 2: Wrap the filling into wonton skins using a simple “scrunch” or folding technique.
  • Step 3: Boil the wontons in water until they float and the skins become translucent.

Step 4: Serve in a light broth seasoned with a touch of seaweed and salt for a clean finish.
